At the same time, PM Prachanda clarified that the tentative date of Indian President Pranab Mukherjee’s Nepal visit has already been set.
Speaking at a Nepal Television programme, Prachanda said: The date of Indian President’s Nepal visit has been fixed, tentatively. There is talk of China’s President coming to Nepal and a decision is in the works. I believe this visit (President Xi’s visit) will also take place during my tenure as Prime Minister.

Prachanda’s tenure has been a contested territory. The Nepali Congress, which is part of the Prachanda government, says, citing an understanding with the CPN-Maoist Centre, that Prachanda will have to quit after serving as PM for nine months (eight months from now). But the Centre says there has been no such understanding.
There have been talks about Chinese President’s Nepal visit, but no decision has been taken as yet, PM said, adding: Certain media reports have claimed President Xi’s visit was confirmed, but put on hold later. This is baseless and our embassy and the Foreign Ministry have already clarified this. As PM, what I have gathered is that a decision on the visit is due.
