NEPSE: Stock market rebounds after four days, trading volume increases

The Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) showed signs of recovery on Thursday after declining for four consecutive trading days. The NEPSE index rose by 2.07 points, closing at 2,658.

The day’s trading volume also increased by NPR 3 billion compared to the previous session. Thursday’s total turnover reached Rs 7.87 billion, up from Rs 7.57 billion the day before.

A total of 83 companies saw their share prices rise, while 161 declined and one remained unchanged. The Investment Group recorded the highest gain of 2.4 per cent. Similarly, the Hydropower, Trading, and Banking groups rose by 0.22, 0.39, and 0.03 per cent respectively.

On the other hand, Development Banks declined by 0.76 per cent, Finance by 0.83 per cent, Hotels and Tourism by 1.16 per cent, Life Insurance by 0.32 per cent, Manufacturing by 0.17 per cent, Microfinance by 0.46 per cent, Non-life Insurance by 0.28 per cent, and the Others group by 0.13 per cent.

Two companies—Nepal Micro Insurance and Crest Micro Life Insurance—posted a 10 per cent increase in their share prices. Ngadi Group, Win Nepal Laghubitta, and Universal Power also rose by 7 per cent.

In contrast, Nepal Hydro Developers fell by 7.12 per cent. Green Development Bank and Corporate Development Bank saw declines of 4.85 and 4.20 per cent respectively.

Based on trading volume, Ngadi Group Power, Radhi Power Company, NRN Infrastructure, Universal Power, and HIDCL led the market.
