Kathmandu, October 27
The Global Conference of Non-Resident Nepalis Association (NRNA) is being held here today with the slogan ‘Transformation and Unity: Labor, Investment and Continuity of Citizenship’. Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli is scheduled to inaugurate the conference which will see the participation of more than five hundred people from home and abroad, according to NRNA General Secretary Gauri Raj Joshi.
Representatives from different countries have arrived in Kathmandu to participate in the conference and all necessary preparations have been completed. The first day of the event will see discussions on infrastructure building for economic transformation in Nepal, non-resident Nepalese citizenship, voting rights and Gurkhas, foreign nationals of Nepali origin, the impact of climate change on women and children, transfer of science, knowledge and technology for a prosperous Nepal.
Likewise, on the second day, there will be sessions on the empowerment of migrant youth for nation-building, ensuring safe, orderly and dignified foreign employment and social security and tourism promotion policy, expectations, challenges and the role of NRNA.
