Nepal Communist Party chairman and Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli has authorised another chairman of his party Pushpa Kamal Dahal to convene party meetings in his absence.
Oli is leaving for Singapore on a medical trip this afternoon. It is estimated that he will stay for around 10 days in Singapore.
The party’s spokesperson Narayan Kaji Shrestha says Dahal is likely to call a secretariat meeting before Oli returns. The meeting will discuss wrapping up the ongoing unification process.
Though Dahal has also been given the status of a chairperson, Oli has been calling meetings and chairing them.
