OnePlus Nord 2T 5G is the latest smartphone released by OnePlus in Nepal.

Not long ago, OnePlus also officially released its premium smartphone OnePlus 10 Pro. OnePlus also launched its mid-rangers OnePlus Nord CE 2 5G and OnePlus Nord CE 2 lite. OnePlus Nord 2T 5G is the best offering in the Nord series by OnePlus this year.

This is probably the best Nord series released in Nepal from OnePlus. It has an abundance of features for the users, including a better display than the formerly released Nord series smartphones. It also offers a high refresh rate display with enhanced colour and contrast of media. Similarly, better camera performance can also be expected from this phone. The phone features a respectable battery backup with a high-speed charging system. It also gets a power-efficient chipset.

Design and display

OnePlus Nord 2T 5G features a glass front, glass back and a plastic frame build. The glass on both sides has Gorilla Glass 5 protection.

This phone is the successor of last year’s release OnePlus Nord 2. On the front, it has inherited the same design as Nord 2 with a small punch-hole notch in the top left with a selfie camera behind it. The changes can be seen on the rear panel. The rear panel of the phone features a combination of two large circles that contain three camera sensors.

Like most OnePlus phones, Nord 2T also features a dedicated mute switch on the side, from which the users can switch their phone to silent vibration or normal mode with just a slide. The phone weighs 190 grams and is 8.2mm thick. It is available in grey shadow and jade fog colours.

On the front, OnePlus Nord 2T 5G features a 6.43-inch AMOLED display with a resolution of 1,080*2,400 pixels and 409 PPI density. The display supports a 90Hz refresh rate for smooth scrolling and gameplay. It also has HDR10+ support that enables the phone to produce punchy colours and contrast to the media. The thin bezels on the phone also allow the user to have a wide viewing angle. Furthermore, the phone also has an in-display fingerprint sensor for security purposes. However, there is no official IP certification on the phone.

Cameras

OnePlus Nord 2T 5G features a revamped camera module on the back. Though flaunting a new design, the camera specifications on the phone remain the same as it was in Nord 2. On the back is the main 50MP camera with PDAF and OIS for quick focus and stable photos and videos. The main camera is accompanied by an 8MP 120 degrees FOV ultrawide and another 2MP monochrome sensor. It is strange to see OnePlus coming up with a nearly useless monochrome sensor. On the front is a 32MP selfie shooter that can rack up some decent selfies.

The main camera on OnePlus Nord 2T 5G can capture 4K resolution videos at 30 fps. Meanwhile, it can capture 1080p resolution videos up to 480fps. The video recording option on the front camera is only limited to 1080p resolution.

Performance and storage

OnePlus Nord 2T 5G has been upgraded in terms of performance. The phone runs on Android 12 with OxygenOS 12.1 on top and is powered by an upgraded MediaTek Dimensity 1300 (6nm) chipset. The graphical duties on the phone are handled by Mali-G77 MC9. OnePlus has offered two years of Android updates and three years of security updates on this phone.

The new chipset allows the phone to have improved frame rate stability and other gaming optimisation. The user should not face any sort of problem during everyday normal use.

For storage, OnePlus Nord 2T 5G comes in two RAM and two internal storage options. The phone comes with either 8GB or 12GB of RAM coupled with 128GB and 256GB storage options respectively. The user cannot expand the memory as the phone does not support any external memory card.

Battery life, connectivity and others

OnePlus Nord 2T 5G features a 4500 mAh non-removable li-po battery. The battery power should be adequate enough to last a whole day or two under normal usage given that the phone has a power-efficient chipset. The phone gets an extremely fast 80W charger that can charge the phone from 0 to 100 in just under 30 minutes. The battery backup during intense gaming sessions should not be of any problem. The user can have a prolonged gaming session and just charge the phone during the break and it should be ready for another session.

OnePlus Nord 2T 5G supports dual sims with 5G connectivity options. The phone also supports dual-band Wifi and Wifi 6 for quick and faster internet connectivity. Furthermore, it also features Bluetooth 5.2 for wireless connectivity with other devices and uses a USB Type-C 2.0 cable for charging and wired connectivity. The phone is also NFC-enabled and supports multiple GPS systems. There are dual stereo speakers on the phone for audio, but OnePlus has opted not to include a 3.5mm headphone jack.
