The OPPO A series is a well-known budget smartphone lineup from OPPO, renowned for its competitive pricing, respectable specifications, and attractive designs. Among the most popular OPPO A series smartphones in Nepal are the OPPO A78, OPPO A17, OPPO A57, and OPPO A77.
The OPPO A58 is the successor of the OPPO A57 which was launched in July of last year. Let us see what the budget smartphone offers.

Design and Display
The OPPO A58 4G boasts a fresh rear design. Its modern and appealing appearance features a sleek, shiny, silk-like texture crafted from high-quality plastic.
It features a pill-shaped design with a glossy on the two rear camera rings which are placed vertically. The frame is flat with a shiny finish and the edges are slightly curved and made up of plastic. The front display now has a hole-punch cutout which houses the selfie camera. The bezels are thin on the sides and are a bit thick on the top and the chin.
The OPPO A58 4G comes with a 6.72-inch display, which is of IPS LCD type. The screen has a screen ratio of 91.40 per cent with an FHD+ resolution of 2,400×1,080 pixels with a pixel density of 391PPI. It has a touch sampling rate of 180Hz. The colour display is good with 16.7 million colours (8-bit) and a wide colour gamut, covering Vivid mode with 100 per cent DCI-P3 and Gentle mode with 100 per cent sRGB.
In terms of brightness, it reaches a maximum of 680 nits in direct sunlight which is good enough in bright outdoor conditions, while the typical brightness is 550 nits for everyday use. It has IP54 dust and splash resistance as well as Corning Gorilla Glass 5 protection.
Performance and Storage
The OPPO A58 4G is equipped with a mid-range chipset, the Mediatek Helio G85 4G chipset built on a 12nm process. The octa-core CPU, featuring a combination of 2 high-performance Cortex-A75 cores and 6 energy-efficient Cortex-A55 cores, contributes to a well-balanced processing power. The graphics processing is handled by the Mali-G52 MC2 GPU. It runs on Android 13 with ColorOS 13.1 operating system.
It has one RAM option of 6GB which is paired with one storage option of 128GB. It also has a MicroSD card slot to increase the storage externally.
Camera
The OPPO A58 4G is equipped with a dual-camera setup on the back. The main camera is a 50 MP sensor with a wide aperture of f/1.8 and autofocus support, it ensures clear shots with a field of view (FOV) of 75.5°. The mono camera, though 2 megapixels, enhances depth and sharpness in certain shots, operating at an aperture of f/2.4 and an FOV of 89.1°.
These cameras offer various shooting modes, including night mode for low-light scenarios, video mode for recording, Portrait mode for beautiful bokeh effects, timelapse, PRO, PANO, sticker, and Google Lens. As for video recording, the OPPO A58 supports 1080p video recording at 30fps and 720p video recording at 30fps.
For selfies, the OPPO A58 4G features an 8MP front camera. This front camera has an aperture of f/2.0 and a field of view (FOV) of 80. It also supports video recording at 1,080p at 30fps and 720p at 30fps. The front camera offers various shooting modes, including video, photo, portrait, time-lapse, PANO (panorama), and sticker mode.
Battery and Others
The OPPO A58 4G is powered by a large 5,000 mAh battery and supports SUPERVOOC 33W wired charging. In terms of connectivity, it has dual SIM cards (Nano-SIM). On the wireless front, it supports Wi-Fi 5 (802.11ac) as well as earlier Wi-Fi standards (802.11a/b/g/n) for fast internet connectivity. It is equipped with Bluetooth 5.3, allowing for easy and reliable connections to other compatible devices.
Additionally, it features a 3.5mm earphone jack and stereo speakers for quality audio output. The sensors like the geomagnetic sensor, light sensor, proximity sensor, accelerometer, gravity sensor, and step counter improve the user experience.
