Kathmandu, October 19
The council of ministers has appointed Communications and Information Technology Minister Parbat Gurung as the government spokesperson.
Customarily, the communications minister acts as the government spokesperson. Gurung, who was working as the Minister for Women, Children and Senior Citizens, was transferred to the Ministry of Communications last week.
Until now, Foreign Affairs Minister Pradeep Kumar Gyawali was working as the government spokesperson as Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli himself was taking the charge of the communications ministry after the resignation of Yuba Raj Khatiwada.
Gurung will be the fourth spokesperson of the Oli cabinet. Before Khatiwada, the then communications minister Gokul Baskota was the spokesperson.
