Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli and Indian ambassador Ranjit Rae met behind closed doors at a hotel in Kathmandu on Sunday night, sources have told Onlinekhabar.
Multiple sources said that UML general secretary Ishwar Pokhrel, and Rae’s deputy also took part in the meeting to discuss the possibility of Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visit to Nepal on Budhha Purnima.
A source said Preside Bidhyadevi Bhandari’s visit to India was also on the agenda of the meeting, which comes just a few days after Delhi hosted former King Gyanendra in the Indian capital.
The Madheshi movement in Nepal, and India’s support to it was also discussed during the meeting, over which UML leaders have chosen to remain tight-lipped.
