Kathmandu, August 17
Province 2 governor Rajesh Jha has been removed from office on Tuesday.
President Bidya Devi Bhandari, upon recommendation from the Council of Ministers, removed Jha from his post on Tuesday, informed Jagannath Panta, a spokesperson for the President’s office.
The meeting of the council of ministers on Monday had recommended that the President remove Jha and replace him with Hari Shankar Mishra. Mishra is a senior leader affiliated with the Nepali congress while Jha is affiliated with CPN-UML.
KP Sharma Oli led government, on February 19, had removed Tilak Pariyar, a Maoist leader, and replaced him with Jha.
