The Rapti Academy of Health Sciences in the Dang district of Lumbini was tense on Friday after the death of a new mother there during treatment.
Madhu Buthathoki KC (28), a resident of Sauri, Ghorahi sub-metropolitan city-8, died on Thursday night, according to the hospital.
Following that, the family accused the institution of medical negligence, leading to her death.
They staged a protest today demanding a fair investigation into the case, Rs 5 million as compensation, and support in the newborn’s treatment.
Families accusing hospitals of medical negligence and causing tension have been a regular affair in Nepal of late.
