There has been a notable surge in tourist arrivals. According to the Nepal Tourism Board, the Department of Immigration’s report reveals that Nepal received a staggering 117,306 tourists in October. This marks a historic milestone for monthly tourist visits to Nepal.
According to a Director of the Nepal Tourism Board, Maniraj Lamichhane, the last time Nepal witnessed such a large number of tourists in a single month was in October 2019, when 113,000 visitors arrived. This record has now been surpassed this year.
Business insiders report that a substantial portion of these tourists hail from India, Bangladesh, China, and Sri Lanka. Additionally, there is a notable influx of non-resident Nepalis arriving from the United States and Europe.
In October, a large number of tourists came from India, totalling 18,480, making it the leading source country. The United States ranked second with 14,879 visitors, and the United Kingdom secured the third position with 8,217 arrivals.
Additionally, China, Australia, Germany, France, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, and Italy all contributed significant numbers of tourists to Nepal.
Between January and October, Nepal welcomed 809,678 tourists, according to the Nepal Tourism Board.
