Kathmandu, October 11
The Rastriya Prajatantra Party has expanded its central committee, more than doubling its size.
Whereas the committee had 327 members, three chairpersons of the party–Kamal Thapa, Pashupati Shamsher Rana, and Prakash Chandra Lohani–added 400 new members, according to a statement issued by the party.
The party with the mission of reinstating the Hindu monarchy in Nepal has only one lawmaker in the federal parliament.
Different small parties identifying themselves as the RPP had come together under three chairpersons in March this year.
This is the first time that the central committee has been expanded after the Election Commission recognised the unified RPP, according to the party.
