Kathmandu, January 13
Sajha Yatayat says it is preparing to run electric minibuses on inner roads in Lalitpur.
The cooperative signed an agreement with Lalitpur’s local government, Lalitpur metropolitan city, to operate four electric minibuses in the city.
Bhushan Tuladhar, a board member of Sajha Yatayat, says the agreement will let people in the inner city access public transport. “This is the metropolitan city’s initiative,” he says, “After this, the people do not need to use private vehicles for their mobility.”
Meanwhile, Tuladhar says the buses will not charge any fare for foreign tourists as well as local senior citizens. This will also help tourists visit inner areas of the city, according to him.
