Samsung’s budget smartphone, the Samsung Galaxy A05s has been launched in Nepal. The smartphone is the budget offering in the A series. It also has a sibling, the Samsung Galaxy A05. The smartphone was launched in India on October 18 and received good feedback.
The smartphone is the predecessor of the Samsung Galaxy A04s, which responded well. The A05s has some upgrades in the display size, charging, chipset and selfie camera. Let us see what the smartphone offers in terms of specs.

Design and Display
The Samsung Galaxy A05s has a notable design change from its predecessor, the A04s. The A04s have a curved back whereas the A05s have a flat back. The camera module is the same triple camera setup but the gap between the lens and size is a bit more. The flat back is made up of plastic with a matte smooth texture. The frame is also made of plastic and has a metal-like finish.
The overall dimensions, as well as the display size, have been slightly increased from the A04s. The front features a waterdrop notch housing the selfie camera. Being a budget smartphone, it has relatively thick bezels at the top and bottom, while the side bezels are a bit thinner.
The Samsung Galaxy A04s has a 6.7-inch PLS LCD screen on the front, with an 82.9 per cent screen-to-body ratio. It has a 1,080 x 2,400 pixel resolution and a 20:9 aspect ratio delivering 393 pixels per inch density. It has a 90Hz refresh rate for better and smoother scrolling. With 16 million colours, this display is vibrant and decent for multimedia. The overall display is better than the A04s with a better resolution and smoother 90Hz.
Performance and Storage
The Samsung Galaxy A04s has a Snapdragon 680 chipset built on a 6nm process for decent performance. Its octa-core CPU has 4×2.4 GHz Kryo 265 Gold and 4×1.9 GHz Kryo 265 Silver cores for efficiency during use. As for graphics handling, it is equipped with an Adreno 610 GPU for decent gaming and multimedia experiences. It runs on Android 13 with Samsung’s One UI operating system.
The Samsung Galaxy A05s has two RAM options 4 GB and 6 GB. Both the RAM options are paired with one storage option of 128 GB. It also has a dedicated MicroSD card slot which supports up to 1 TB of external storage.
Camera
The Samsung Galaxy A05s has a triple rear camera setup featuring a 50.0 MP main camera with an aperture of F1.8 decent detailed shots. Accompanying the main camera is a 2.0 MP macro lens with an aperture of F2.4 and another 2.0 MP depth sensor with an aperture of F2.4. While the main camera offers autofocus and digital zoom of up to 10x, it lacks optical image stabilisation (OIS) for steady shots.
The rear camera supports features such as photo, video, portrait, panorama, night mode, macro, hyper lapse, slow motion, pro mode and food mode. Video recording capabilities are 1080p at 60 fps and slow-motion at 120 fps in HD.
On the front, the Samsung Galaxy A05s houses a 13MP selfie camera with an F2.0 aperture. Although it doesn’t feature autofocus or OIS, it delivers decent selfies according to the lighting conditions. The front camera supports 1080p video shooting at 30fps.
Battery and Others
The Samsung Galaxy A05s has a 5,000 mAh battery which can get you through a full day of use on a single charge. The charging capability has increased from 15W in the A04s to 25W in the A05s. The 25W charger can fully charge the smartphone in about one and a half hours.
In terms of connectivity, the Galaxy A05s is equipped with Wi-Fi support for 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac, offering dual-band capability internet connections and Bluetooth 5.1 for pairing with other compatible devices for sharing files or multimedia purposes. It operates on LTE networks and has support for dual SIM cards. Audio-wise, it features a mono speaker setup which delivers a decent audio experience. It has a 3.5mm headphone jack for wired listening.
Additionally, it has various sensors like the accelerometer, side-mounted fingerprint sensor, light sensor, and proximity sensor for intuitive usage.
It is available in four colour options; Light Green, Black, Silver and Light Violet.
