Kathmandu, March 7
Saptari district administration has clamped curfew in district headquarters Rajbiraj and surrounding areas, with the UDMF movement against the killing of three of its cadres in police firing in Saptari becoming increasingly violent.
Janak Koirala, administrative officer at Saptari district administration office, said they imposed curfew to control the situation after enraged UDMF cadres started vandalising and torching government offices. The curfew orders will remain in effect until further notice.
Koirala said they had to issue curfew orders after tension that started yesterday escalated further this afternoon instead of subsiding.
