Kathmandu, September 17
Seven helicopters which were coming to Kathmandu from Lukla of Solukhumbu district made an emergency landing in different places of Kavre and Sindhuli districts after they could not fly to Kathmandu due to bad weather.
Around 300 tourists, mostly foreigners, were reported stranded in the Everest region after bad weather did not permit any flight to the Tenzing Hillary Airport. Following that, Kailash, Manang and Simrik airlines had sent eight choppers. Of them, four landed in Panchkhal of Kavre and three in Nepalthok of Sindhuli. One helicopter left for Kathmandu from Panchkhal after a couple of hours, according to DSP Deepak Giri of the Kavre District Police Office.
Both Panchkhal and Nepalthok have easy access to roads to Kathmandu.
