Dhangadhi, February 4
Snowfall in hilly and mountainous districts in the Sudurpaschim province has blocked various highays since early morning on Friday.
Darchula, Baitadi, Dadeldhura, Bajura, Bajhang and Doti districts have been witnessing snowfall since Thursday night. The Provincial Traffic Police Office says major roads in these districts have been blocked.
As several sections of the Bhimdatta Highway that connects seven hilly districts of Sudurpaschim with the plains have been obstructed, people’s daily life has been hit hard, according to police.
Likewise, several sections of Mahakali, Dashrath Chand, and Jaya Prithvi highways have also been blocked by the snowfall.
This is the third time that the province has been hit by snowfall this winter.
