The House of Representatives Speaker Agni Prasad Sapkota has requested all parties represented in the House to support the constitution amendment bill recently registered in Parliament.
The government has registered the bill last week in order to revise the country’s coat of arms following the decision to issue a new political map of the country.
In a meeting of the Business Advisory Committee of the House on Sunday, Sapkota said the parties should have one voice about the issue. “I will make initiatives to discuss the issue with the parties,” he added.
During the meeting, the lawmakers of the newly unified People’s Socialist Party Nepal, Laxman Lal Karna, and Uma Shankar Argariya, demanded that the government address the party’s concerns in the amendment proposal.
“An all-party meeting should be held to discuss these issues. The speaker should make efforts,” one of them said.
