A 40-year-old man attacked sub-inspector Inchnath Pradhan with a khukuri at Ramite Danda, Samalbung-8, Ilam, on Saturday. Police identified the attacker as Krishna Bahadur Bamjan (40). The attacker was drunk, police said.
Bamjan is in the custody of police, whereas Pradhan is under treatment at BNC Hospital in Birtamod, Jhapa.
