Kathmandu, September 26
The government has taken action against the Sumeru City Hospital in Pulchok of Lalitpur after finding that the hospital charged more than double the price for the Covid-19 test.
The hospital collected Rs 2,500 for an antigen test for the coronavirus although the hospital was allowed to charge only up to Rs 1,000, informs Lalitpur Assistant Chief District Officer Lalit Kumar Basnet.
Basnet says the hospital was made to pay a fine of Rs 30,000 for overcharging.
“Based on the complaints of the customers, we had mobilised a market monitoring team. During the monitoring, we found the hospital charging up to Rs 2,500 for an antigen test.”
The hospital has committed to not repeating it in the future, according to him.
