One of the minor players in the smartphone market in Nepal, Tecno, of late, has launched various smartphones from budget smartphones to premium mid-rangers.
Tecno POP 5 LTE is another budget phone along with Spark 6 Go and Spark 7T on the budget line series. With a similar build and design, the newly launched Tecno Pop 5 LTE offers a large display with a massive battery backup as well. It also has a dual flash for better lighting while taking pictures.

Design and display
Tecno POP 5 LTE has a glass front, plastic back and a plastic frame build. It shares a similar design to other Tecno phones in the budget range. The rear panel of the phone features a vertical camera panel followed by a textured pattern to the bottom of the phone. Similarly, the fingerprint sensor also resides on the back panel and a large Tecno branding can be seen on the right bottom of the back panel.
Tecno POP 5 LTE weighs around 195 grams and is 8.80mm thick. The phone is available in ice blue, deep sea lustre and turquoise cyan colour options.
On the front is a 6.52-inch water drop notch, IPS LCD panel with a resolution of 720*1,600 pixels and 269 PPI density. This is a typical setting on any budget phone. While it may not provide an immersive viewing experience or impressive colour accuracy, it can be of great use for the ones who desire decent features at an affordable price.
Cameras
Tecno POP 5 LTE features a dual AI camera on the back while there is a single sensor on the front. The back panel features one 8MP camera while there is no secondary camera. The cameras on the back are also accompanied by a dual flash. On the front is a 5MP selfie shooter.
For the video, the main camera on the back can record 1080p resolution videos up to 30fps.
Performance and storage
Tecno POP 5 LTE runs on HiOS based on Android 11. The phone is powered by Unisoc SC9863A (28nm) chipset while the graphical duties are handled by IMG8322.
The phone is currently available in a single variant of 3GB of RAM and 32GB of internal storage. Furthermore, the phone supports a microSD card, and the user can expand the storage through it.
Battery life, connectivity and others
Tecno POP 5 LTE features a massive 5,000 mAh non-removable li-po battery. Since the phone has minimal features in every category, power consumption should be low and with the given battery power on the phone, it should last for days under normal use. The battery on the phone can take some time to get fully charged as there is no fast charging system on the phone.
Tecno POP 5 LTE supports dual sim cards and up to 4G network connectivity. It supports GPS, OTG and FM radio. The phone also features Bluetooth connectivity for wireless pairing with another device while using a micro USB 2.0 cable for charging and wired pairing. For audio, it has a speaker as well as a 3.5mm headphone jack.
