Kathmandu, August 2
Thai AirAsia, a Thailand-based airline, has been granted permission to operate four weekly flights to Bhairahawa.
According to Pradeep Adhikari, Director General of the Civil Aviation Authority of Nepal, Thai AirAsia has been permitted a total of seven flights to Nepal, with three flights to Kathmandu and four to Bhairahawa.
Due to congestion at Tribhuvan International Airport, the authority is prioritising flights to Bhairahawa and Pokhara airports.
Although airlines such as Jazeera Airways, Himalaya Airlines, and Nepal Airlines have previously started regular flights to Bhairahawa, they have not been able to maintain continuity.
