Kathmandu, April 27
The ruling CPN-UML has directed all candidates of the party contesting in upcoming local level elections to furnish the party with their property details compulsorily.
In a recent circular issued by the party’s General Secretary Ishwar Pokharel, the candidates have been directed to submit their property details along with the biodata.
In the closed-door session of party’s Central Publicity Assembly in Kathmandu today, Pokharel said the directive was made in order to maintain good governance and good conduct of UML representatives.
The party said it would collect details of property from the time before elections to the completion of their tenure if elected.
Meanwhile, the party also directed its local committees to form election mobilisation committees and other committees in order to expedite the electioneering.
The party has delegated the right to make appropriate decisions about forming election alliances on the basis of local needs, the possibility of victory and the party’s image to the local committees.
