Kathmandu, March 18
Amid the ongoing dispute in the ruling CPN-UML, Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli, in his capacity as the parliamentary party chief, has formed a 27-member parliamentary party board.
A meeting of the parliamentary party held on Thursday made the decision. A dissident faction of the party led by Madhav Kumar Nepal and Jhala Nath Khanal, however, had boycotted the meeting objecting to Oli’s decision of removing leaders from various responsibilities in the party.
Interestingly, Oli has inducted both Nepal and Khanal also into the powerful parliamentary board.
Lawmakers supporting the two former prime ministers are currently attending a gathering at Heritage Garden of Lalitpur.
Meanwhile, the parliamentary party meeting held at Baluwatar also decided to take action against the leaders attending the Heritage Garden gathering, terming the even an exercise of factionalism in the party.
