United States’ Ambassador to Nepal, Alaina B Teplitz, called on CPN-UML Chair KP Sharma Oli at the office of the UML Parliamentary Party in Singhadurbar on Tuesday.
While Teplitz wanted to know the reasons behind the UML’s opposition to the Constitution Amendment proposal, Oli cautioned the diplomat not to take undue interest in the amendment, pointing that it is Nepal’s internal matter.

Teplitz reached out to the chief of the main opposition amid growing opposition to the amendment proposal. She drew attention towards obstruction in the Parliament against the proposal, Subas Nembang, deputy leader of the UML Parliamentary Party, informed. At the meeting, according to Nembang, Ambassador Teplitz wanted to know why the UML was opposing the amendment proposal.
On his part, Oli cautioned Teplitz that this is Nepal’s internal matter and that Nepalis themselves should resolve it by working together, Nembang said.
