Kathmandu, July 23
Division Forest Office, Banke, has rescued 42 wild animals of different species in the last fiscal year 2022/23.
The district forest office reported rescuing 42 wild animals of diverse species over the course of one year, which included animals that were injured, orphaned, lost, and those that had entered villages and were in distress.
According to Ganesh Khadka, the Information Officer and Assistant Divisional Forest Officer, the majority of the rescued wild animals were found alive, but unfortunately, some were discovered dead.
The rescued animals included a variety of species such as python, racial viper, red sand boa, crocodile, cow snake, leopard cub, red Assamese monkey, golden hornet, Nilgai, Bengal eagle-owl, Oriental rat snake, wild boar, and baby Chital. Additionally, the team also recovered the bodies of a dead leopard and a dead tiger from various locations.
