Jhapa, July 3
An elderly woman in Mechinagar municipality died after being attacked by a wild elephant.
The deceased has been identified as 80-year-old Panna Devi Sah.
Sah was on her way to pluck flowers when she was attacked by a wild elephant. Locals say the elephant stepped on Sah killing her on the spot.
In the last year, eight people died due to elephant attacks in Jhapa district.
