Young activists in their twenties, rallied under Yuwalaya‘s banner for the 16 Days of Activism against Gender-Based Violence, aiming to empower and engage youth in combating gender-based violence through innovative initiatives.
Following the rally, an event titled Tea Talk with Twenties brought together young and enthusiastic minds committed to fostering change.
Sabita Maharjan, a widow at 23, shared her inspiring journey leading an agricultural project with 25 single women, advocating for Women’s Rights. Her story highlights the potential of young people to contribute to a more respectful society.
Maharjan’s story moved everyone, highlighting how vital young people are in making a violence-free society.
Dharma Raj Rimal, President of Yuwalaya, stressed the pivotal role of the youth in shaping a violence-free, gender-friendly society.
“The voice of Twenties is the voice of change,” he said, underlining the importance of harnessing the vigour and creativity of young minds to drive meaningful transformation.
The gathering concluded on a powerful note, highlighting joint initiatives and collective action as driving forces toward a society rooted in respect and equality, striving to eradicate gender-based violence.
