The Chinese company Zontes recently launched its adventure motard bike, Zontes ZT 155-U1, with Iron Monk Nepal being its authorised dealer. The bike was officially launched by Bikes and Coffee Nepal on December 10, 2022.
The bike has a lot of features just like a modern-day car. The features include keyless start, anti-theft PKE (passive keyless entry) system, LED headlights, electronic tank and seat cushion lock system, water-cooled BOSCH EFI engine, full LED lighting, USD front forks and centre mono-shock absorber rear suspension and many more.
The bike currently has two variants with two colours in each segment. The variants are specified on the wheel basis: spoke and alloy. The spoke has colours neon and orange whereas alloy has colours red and blue. The price for the spoke wheel variant is Rs 599,900 and the alloy wheel variant is Rs 539,900.

Design
Zontes ZT 155-U1 has a mean aggressive look with all the possible features added to it. The bike has sharp edges and a mix of naked and adventure tourer bikes. The muscular fuel tank with galvanised liner gives the bike a more aggressive look. It also has automotive-grade LED lights which are projected from an aluminium die-cast shell producing an ample amount of light.
The bike has an underbelly stainless steel exhaust with an aluminium anti-hotplate. The display used is a fast responsive digital LCD display with all the necessary information to be provided.
Performance
Zontes ZT 155-U1 delivers a power pack performance with the 155CC single cylinder 4-valve, BOSCH EFI, SOHC engine. With these engine specifications, the bike produces a max power of 19 PS @ 9250 rpm and a max torque of 16 PS @ 7500 rpm. Having a standard Euro 5-BS6 emission, it has a top speed of 120km/h.
The bike has a fuel tank of 12.5 litres and gives 40-45km/l of range. The braking system used is dual-channel BOSCH ABS for better stopping during high speed. The bike has a pretty good power performance than the other bikes available in the market.
Other features
Zontes ZT 155-U1 is loaded with normal safety features. The bike has been provided with the best adventure motard styling 110 mm (F) and 130mm (R) dual-purpose tyres. It also includes knuckle guards, lever adjusters, inner mudguards, crash guards and hand guards.
But, the bike has car-like features including an anti-theft PKE (passive keyless entry) system. With the key within 1.5 metres of proximity, your bike gets unlocked; go far away and the bike gets locked automatically. The handle also has a smart lock feature. It also gives a dual USB port which supports fast charging.

Verdict
As the Zontes ZT 155-U1 is loaded with features and with the increase in the adventure tourer segment, the bike might do pretty well in the Nepali Market. The pricing is reasonable for the features it has been provided. It will be a new experience for the Nepali people to adapt to such features, but overall the bike is good.
