The Tarai Madhesh Democratic Party, a constituent of the United Democratic Madheshi Front that has been spearheading a movement in the Madhesh, has trained its guns on the main opposition Nepali Congress.
TDMP Vice-President Hridayesh Tripathi, speaking at a press conference in Bhairahawa on Friday, described the party as the main culprit of the Madheshi people.
He described the CPN-UML and the UCPN-Maoist as only the accomplices. Tripathi did not elaborate.
The TMDP leader claimed: If the Madhesh movement fails, it will harm national unity and communalism will raise its head. Public trust towards a peaceful movement will decrease and separatist thoughts will crop up.
The former minister also accused some incumbent ministers of working to put federalism in jeopardy. He warned: If this happens, the entire country will land in a grave crisis.
Tripathi said the movement will continue till the resolution of the dispute over province delineation.
