Kathmandu, May 29
The KP Sharma Oli government has allocated more funds to the Lumbini-based Gautam Buddha International Airport than Pokhara International Airport and Nijgadh International Airport combined.
While presenting the budget for the fiscal 2073-74 BS on Saturday, Finance Minister Bishnu Poudel said the government has allocated Rs 7.22 billion for the GBIA. The government aims to bring this airport into operation by Magh, 2074 BS (in about two years from now). The government has earmarked five billion rupees for Pokhara airport. The government announced that it will construct the airport in four years. It has allocated Rs 1.5 billion for construction of the Nijgadh airport.
