Kathmandu, June 20
Madhesh-centric parties boycotted Monday’s Parliament meeting, accusing the KP Sharma Oli government of not addressing their movement.
At the start of the meeting, Sadbhavana Party lawmaker Laxman Lal Karna said the government had ignored the movement for long and had not bothered to remove the causes of dissatisfaction related with the new constitution.
Lawmaker Karna said major parties should be ready to amend the constitution and resolve the crises by bringing agitating parties to an agreement. Madhesh-centric parties are boycotting the Parliament to press for the same, he informed.
We will not let the government implement the constitution if status quo remains, he said, accusing the government of not bothering to address Madheshi parties’ demands even after death of 60 people in course of the Madhesh movement.
