Kathmandu, December 2
Lawmakers from the ruling CPN-Maoist Centre and the Nepali Congress themselves are taking part in the movement against the Constitution Amendment Bill that seeks to split Province 5.
Maoist lawmaker Top Bahadur Rayamajhi and Nepali Congress leader Chandra Bhandari have already arrived at Butwal to take part in the movement. They both will take part in protests against the bid to split Province 5.
All lawmakers from the province arrived in Bhairahawa on Friday morning to take part in an all-party meeting against the plot to split the province. They plan to chart out a strategy in the wake of removal of Hill districts from Province 5.
The organisers have also invited lawmakers from Madhesh-centric parties for the meeting. It’s not clear whether they will attend the meeting.
Bishnu Poudel, CPN-UML Deputy General Secretary and movement coordinator for Province 5, is coordinationg the meeting, a source said. Baija Nath Chaudhary, UML Central Member and a lawmaker from Nawalparasi district, said Central Committee members of different parties from Province 5 and district chiefs of different parties will take part in the meeting.
Sima Kumari BK, lawmaker from National Liberation Democratic Party, said the meeting will take place at Amrapali Party Palace in Butwal.
Maoist leader Rayamajhi and Congress leader Chandra Bhandari will also address the protest assembly that will take place at Chauraha of Butwal.
