Rupandehi, February 26
Police have said that Manoj Pun is the brains behind the murder of then Youth Association (Rupandehi) chief Durga Tiwari. Of the 12 suspects made public, police have arrested seven, whereas the rest, including Pun, are at large.
Organising a press conference on Sunday, police again identified Pun (29) of Devdaha-6, Rupandehi, as the mastermind. Som Bahadur Ale alias Bikas of Siddharthanagar-3, an accoplice, is also at large. According to SP Rabindra Dhanuk, another accomplice, shooter Raju, is also at large. A police probe has shown that Pun got Tiwari killed over personal enmity.
Of the suspects, Khem Raj Bhandari had allegedly taken the shooter to the site and help him flee after the murder.
