Kathmandu, July 3

A senior leader of the Rastriya Janata Party Nepal says his party will work on improving the relationship with the CPN-UML.

Leader Manish Kumar Suman says the party has taken initiatives to improve the ties as the main opposition party has “improved of late.”

The two parties have been at odds since the formation of the RJPN after merger of six Madhesh-centric parties in April. The party has been saying that the UML does not want to give rights to Madheshi people.

Meanwhile, Suman says his party will soon withdraw the support extended to the incumbent coalition government.

He says internal discussions have already begun about preparations to withdraw the support and an appropriate decision will be taken very soon.

The leader claims the party had not agreed to postpone local level elections in Province 2 till September 18. The Prime Minister has been claiming that the government postponed the polls in the RJPN’s consent.
