Baitadi, June 29
Police in the Baitadi district of Sudurpaschim have arrested two persons on the rape charge. One of the suspects is the chair of a local ward.
Sharad Singh Negi, the chair of ward 1 of Melauli municipality, and local Keshav Singh Dhami have been arrested based on a complaint filed by a 28-year-old woman, according to Inspector Lok Raj Joshi of the District Police Office.
The woman has accused the two of raping her on March 29 this year.
The survivor has been sent to the District Hospital for an examination whereas further investigation is underway, according to police.
