Kathmandu, January 9
Nepal’s Election Commission has indicated that it has stepped up preparations for local polls by issuing a notice to political parties to register themselves with its district offices.
The commission, in a notification has given political parties a deadline of January 30 to register themselves at the district election office to take part in local polls.
In its notice the commission says that as per Article 269 of the constitution political parties registered with the EC need to notify the district election offices concerned that they intend to take part in the upcoming local elections.
