Lok Man Singh Karki, suspended chief commissioner of the Commission for the Investigation of Abuse of Authority, has asked authorities to release two youths, who attacked him and painted soot on his face on Supreme Court premises on Thursday.
Two cadres from the Biplav-led CPN-Maoist had attacked Karki while he was in the court for a hearing in a case against him.
Police had arrested the two right after the attack.
Karki described the two as mere pawns of those trying to execute a plot aimed at tarnishing his image. Karki described the two as innocent servants of those forces.
The real criminals are behind the curtain. They will not come under purview of law anytime soon. So, I ask concerned agencies to spare their innocent servants
He said: The real criminals are behind the curtain. For some months, they have been hatching plots against me. Given the situation, they will remain beyond the ambit of law and police. So I ask security agencies concerned to release these innocent servants without taking legal action.
