Sanjaya Jargha Magar (24), secretary of Disqualified People’s Liberation Army Nepal, has died in Dilli Bazaar Jail.
Police had arrested and jailed Jargha Magar, who hails from Bhainse of Makwanpur district, on charge of irregularities associated with the operation of Pravin Oil Store based in Gatthaghar, Bhaktapur, about a month ago.
Jargha Magar and his friends had used funds that government had provided to disqualified fighters for purchasing the oil store.
Lenin Bista, chair of DPLA Nepal, said Jhargha Magar died because the jail administration did not bother to take him to hospital, though he had been ill for quite sometime.
The jail administration said Jargha Magar died of heart attack. It has sent his body to Tribhuvan University Teaching Hospital in Maharajgunj for a post-mortem.
