Kathmandu, October 19
The Public Procurement Monitoring Office under Office of the Prime Minister and Council of Ministers has blacklisted 31 consultant companies, which could not cmplete their assignments on time.
The companies cannot apply for any government assignment for next one to three years.
Among the companies blacklisted in past six months, most of them were responsible for various road construction projects. Likewise, some were handed over the contracts for supplies.
The Monitoring Office’s Secretary Binod KC says the Office blacklisted the companies as recommended by concerned government agencies.
Laws have it that the companies which win tenders but do not show up for agreement are blacklisted for three years. Likewise, those who complete less than 60 per cent of assignment on time are blacklisted for two years.
