Kathmandu, July 18
The government has revoked the controversial Constitutional Council Ordinance that the previous government led by Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli had issued to hold meetings of the council with just three members.
A statement issued by the President’s Office says the ordinance was revoked as per a recommendation made by the government yesterday.
Based on the ordinance, the Oli government had appointed officials at almost all constitutional commissions on February 3 and June 24, putting the country’s repute at stake.
