Kathmandu, February 21
The government has said it removed officials of the Social Welfare Council after they were found to be working with ill intents.
The government spokesperson and Minister for Communications and Information Technology, Gokul Prasad Banskota, informs that Vice Chairperson Nil Mani Baral, Treasurer Bir Bahadur Thagunna, members Kunja Kumar Jha and Gokarna Bhatta, and Member Secretary Dilli Prasad Bhatta were removed by a recent Cabinet meeting.
Their activities caused a loss to the SWC, which acts as a governing body for all national and international nongovernment organisations, working in the country, according to the Minister.
Meanwhile, the government also decided to tell the Commission for the Investigation of Abuse of Authority to investigate into irregularities in the Council and take action against those involved.
