Hyatt Regency remains shut even after workers withdraw strike

Kathmandu, June 20

The five star Hyatt Regency in Kathmandu is still shut though its protesting staff have already withdrawn their strike.

The hotel administration had shut the hotel last week owing to the staff’s strike. The staffers, however, announced the withdrawal of their strike on Tuesday evening without any further development.

But, the hotel is still shut and its guests have been kept at Hotel Yak and Yeti.

The hotel’s public relations director Govinda Ram Pariyar says the hotel is shut as it is yet to be cleaned after the protest. He, however, fails to inform when it will resume operation.

Sources inform that the staff who have returned to work have been rendered jobless as the management has not yet resumed the functioning.
