Kathmandu, February 13
Kamal Thapa, who had recently left the Rastriya Prajatantra Party, is preparing to announce the formation of his party on Saturday.
His party, however, will not be new as it will have the old name, Rastriya Prajatantra Party-Nepal (RPPN).
Between the 2006 democratic movement and the second Constituent Assembly elections in 2013, Thapa had split his party and formed a new one with the same name.
Since his failure in the party’s general convention to become the chairman again, Thapa, one of the most outspoken royalists of recent times, had been accusing former king Gyanendra Shah of launching a conspiracy to defeat him.
Asking the new chairman Rajendra Lingden to launch an investigation into Shah’s role, Thapa had been boycotting the party meetings.
