The District Administration Office, Kathmandu, has implemented a time card to ensure smooth services.
Chief District Officer Ghana Shyam Upadhyay tells Onlinekhabar that time cards have been put in place for 10 types of services with effect from Thursday.
According to him, this rule has been implemented to organise the service delivery from the administration. People who come to the Kathmandu DAO with all the necessary documents will get the service within the specified time.
“If people have the necessary documents for a citizenship certificate, it will be prepared within an hour,” Upadhyay says. “We have allotted 30 minutes for organisation renewal, one hour for minor ID cards, and one hour for all other recommendations provided by the administration.”
Upadhyay says people will receive their printed passports within 15 minutes.
He further adds that 30 minutes have been set aside for scheduling and giving dates for a legal case and the chief district officer’s decision will be made within 60 days.
“In the past, there were many complaints that there was a long queue to collect national identity cards and passports, so this decision has been taken to manage it”, says Upadhyay, “There are still areas for improvement; this is the first attempt.”
Deputy Prime Minister and Home Minister Rabi Lamichhane also visited District Administration Office, Kathmandu, on Thursday and inspected the condition of service delivery.
He praised the work done by the DOA Kathmandu and said that the citizens should not be inconvenienced when they come to get services.
Lamichhane said, “This should gradually be practised in other administrations as well.”
