Kathmandu, March 5
A landslide that occurred during the construction of a road for a hydropower project in Manewas of Righa-7, Baglung district, has partially blocked the Daram River. This has also shut the Mid-Hill Highway.
A lake of sort has formed with the river’s course blocked for around four hours.
We have received information that river water has started draining slowly, chief district officer Bhagirath Pandeya informed. He said there’s no imminent danger.
The landslide has damaged the highway. Repairing it will take some time, CDO Pandeya informed.
The landslip has posed a threat to the house of Mankumari Shahi and displaced the family.
