Holi, the festival of goodwill and harmony, is celebrated today in the hilly parts of the country. The festival is being celebrated in the Tarai tomorrow. During the festival relatives and friends gather and play with colours and water. It is also called Phagu Poornima. During this festival, people throw colourful powders and water at each other while dancing and singing.
Foreign nationals are also taking part in this festival of colors.
In Kathmandu’s Basantapur area, foreign tourists also celebrating Holi by playing with colors. They were seen walking around Basantapur, Thamel, and other areas covered in vibrant colors.
People of all ages, elderly, youth and children participate in the festival. Holi festival is believed to be a celebration of the victory of truth and the destruction of falsehood.
