Money exchange operator shot at in Biratnagar, robbed of Rs 5 lakh

An unidentified gang opened fire and looted five lakh rupees from the proprietor of a money exchange in Biratnagar-21, Morang, on Monday night.

The gang attacked Batesh Kumar Sah (40), proprietor of Kritesh Money Changer, while he was returning to his home in Biratnagar-19 on a bike numbered Ko 11 Pa 2374, at around 8.30 pm.

Yogendra Singh Thapa, deputy superintendent of police at Morang district police office, said the gang robbed Sah of five lakh rupees and fled the scene.

Sah has sustained injuries on his right hand and right thigh. He is receiving treatment at BP Koirala Institute of Health Sciences in Dharan. According to police, a group of four motorcycle-borne robbers had attacked and robbed Sah.

They said a search for the looters is on.
