Kathmandu, February 16
The Nepal Airlines Corporation says its wide-body aircraft that airlifted 175 Nepalis from Wuhan of China to Kathmandu for quarantining them here will not be allowed to fly for the next two days. It means the aircraft will be qualified to fly on Tuesday only.
The corporation’s spokesperson Archana Khadka says the World Health Organisation requires such aircraft not to operate for the next 48 hours after such evacuations. However, it would not affect regular flights of the national flag carrier as other schedules have been adjusted accordingly, she clarifies.
The corporation uses this wide-body aircraft for international flights such as to Delhi, Doha, and Dubai.
The general manager at the Tribhuvan International Airport, Devendra KC, says the aircraft has been kept at the report parking area of the airport.
