Kathmandu, July 6

An informant of the National Investigation Department has been arrested on rape charges.

Kathmandu Police arrested Damodar Paudel based on a complaint filed by a woman. He has been booked for sexual assault.

According to SP Sitaram Rijal of Kathmandu Police, the Women’s Cell under Kathmandu Police is conducting further investigation.

The survivor told the police Poudel approached her through social media. She told the police Paudel raped her threatening and intimidating her.

“He lured me telling me he will marry me. He stalked my daily activities and came to my rented apartment and had sex with me without my consent,” she said.

She told the police she asked him to marry her but he stalled giving various excuses.

Paudel has been suspended by the National Investigation Department.
